Updated (7/14/26):
In preparing for future content and a likely reprint of the game, I’ll be making some more updates here as I commit to card changes, I’d like to make.
Commander Kaili (Engineer Crew card) - This card can be unintentionally powerful (even game breaking) in certain types of games. Specifically Malfunction heavy games where cards with countering abilities (like discarding cards your opponent has in play) are not present. I definitely don’t want people having terrible experiences just because of one card, so I have 2 recommendations:
1. (Simplest) Play with this card removed from the game, or with it towards the bottom of the Engineering Crew deck. I will eventually reprint this card to have an adjusted Ability as you will see below.
2. (Best) Play with an adjusted Ability. Cards cost changes from 5 to 4 Credits. Card will eventually read “Gain 4 Power to this System. WHILE IN PLAY you may Discard this card to repair a drawn Malfunction before it triggers.”
Ablative Hull - To a lesser extent a similar issue can occur with this card. If you feel it is an issue, change the main Ability text to work the same way as the above card. Card Power cost will change from 2 to 1. Card loses the ‘Draw Card’ symbol. Text will now read, “While Uncovered, you may pay 3 Power from this system to repair a drawn Malfunction before it triggers.”
Dexeer Symbiote - Credit cost is being changed from 1 to 2.
Update (7/9):
Scythe Beam is being adjusted to a 3 Credit / 3 Power cost.
Update (7/7):
Official General Gameplay Adjustments - After more feedback and personal testing I recommend that the starting player (player who goes first) begins the game with 4 Credits (instead of 5).
Cloaked Mines - The “While Uncovered” Ability on this card is not intended to be triggered by the card draw that Malfunctions often provide.
Update (4/12):
Pirate Rex - Opponent must pay you 2 Credits or they must take 2 damage.
Solo Mode Clarification - If the A.I. player needs to Draw a card from an empty Player Deck, ALL of its discarded and in play System and Crew cards are shuffled together to make it a new Player Deck.
